NFLPA head Gene Upshaw dies at 63 (AP) -

A sign about the death of Oakland Raiders Hall of Fame guard Gene Upshaw is posted at Ricky's Sports bar in San Leandro, Calif., Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008. Upshaw had a Hall of Fame career as a guard for the Oakland Raiders -- a team that won two of the three Super Bowls it reached during his 15 years in a black and silver jersey.

They dropped their first game, hardly an auspicious start for a country that had lost only one other in three Olympics.

The Indians' left-hander recorded his AL-best 18th victory and won his seventh straight decision as Cleveland beat the Kansas City Royals 10-3 on Thursday.
